Director: Prof. Yizhou Wang
Executive Director:Prof. Yixin Zhu
Overview:
The Center for Computational Cognitive Science and Commonsense Reasoning focuses on research areas such as cognitive neuroscience, computational cognitive models, and bio-inspired algorithms. With a focus on intelligent perception and advanced cognition, the center conducts fundamental research on autonomous perception and learning in the human brain, language generation and understanding, learning and memory, formation and application of commonsense knowledge, reasoning and decision making.
The center aims to explore the information representation mechanisms and computational modeling of intelligent perception and cognitive reasoning. The center aims to reveal the cognitive mechanisms behind human intelligent behavior, establish theoretical frameworks, methods, and technologies for cognitive reasoning computation, learn and infer the values of intelligent agents, establish cognitive architectures for communication in intelligent agents, enhance the emotional understanding capabilities of robots and other intelligent agents, and develop machine intelligence that aligns with human values. The center aims to achieve world-class, landmark achievements and make original contributions with international influence in the development of the next generation of artificial intelligence.
