Born in May 1969, Dr. Guan Zhenpeng is a Professor and Ph.D. supervisor at Peking University. He is the Chief Physician at Peking University People's Hospital and Peking University Shougang Hospital, where he also serves as the Director of Orthopedics.
His primary focus is on the surgical treatment of rheumatic diseases, with an emphasis on artificial hip and knee joint replacements and perioperative management. He is also involved in surgeries such as artificial shoulder and elbow joint replacements, as well as early-stage preservation treatment for congenital hip dysplasia and femoral head necrosis. Dr. Guan performs over 600 cases of artificial hip and knee joint replacements annually, with a total of nearly 6,000 cases completed to date.
His main research directions include autologous blood transfusion technique after artificial joint replacement, Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) in orthopedics, prevention and treatment of lower limb deep vein thrombosis after artificial joint replacement, early diagnosis and treatment principles of pulmonary embolism after artificial joint replacement, artificial joint replacement techniques and perioperative management for hemophilic arthropathy, mechanisms of rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, mechanisms and specific techniques of stem cell therapy for osteoarthritis, research on antibacterial artificial joint prostheses, and more.
In recent years, Dr. Guan has published over 70 papers in major domestic and international medical journals, including 10 papers in SCI-indexed international journals. He has authored or co-authored several clinical monographs. In 2002, he was awarded the National Science and Technology Progress Award (First Class) as the fourth contributor. In 2007, he received the National Science and Technology Progress Award (Second Class) as the second contributor. Dr. Guan has completed two National Natural Science Foundation projects and two Xinjiang Autonomous Region Science and Technology Cooperation projects. He is currently undertaking one National Natural Science Foundation project and participating in one Beijing Science and Technology Commission Medical Cooperation Research (Scientific Research) project.
