Dr. Hao Dong is currently an Assistant Professor and Ph.D. supervisor at the Center for Frontier Computing Research, Peking University, having officially joined the center in August 2019. His research focuses on generalizable robotic arm manipulation, robotic vision, and autonomous decision-making for mobile devices. Dr. Dong has published over 40 papers in top international conferences and journals such as NeurIPS, ICLR, CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, ICRA, and IROS. His work has been cited over 4000 times according to Google Scholar. He has served as an area chair for top international conferences such as NeurIPS, CVPR, and AAAI. He has led several open-source projects, including TensorLayer and OpenMLsys, which earned the Best Open Source Software Award at ACM Multimedia 2017 and the OpenI Outstanding Project Award in 2021 and 2022. Before joining Peking University, Dr. Dong graduated from Imperial College London in the fall of 2019, where he studied under Professor Yi-Ke Guo. Prior to his Ph.D., Dr. Dong received a First-Class Master's degree from Imperial College London and a First-Class Bachelor's degree from the University of Central Lancashire. He also co-founded an AI wearable hardware company with Professor Yi-Ke Guo.
