Jia Yu Zhan is an Assistant Professor in School of Psychological and Cognitive Sciences at Peking University since Dec 2022. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in psychology (Southwest University), master’s degree in cognitive psychology (Peking University), and Ph.D. in cognitive neuroscience (University of Glasgow).
Jia Yu Zhan is interested in the mechanisms of human visual cognition. Her work focus on the modelling of Visual Knowledge that humans utilize to interact with the external world, tracing the underlying Brain Dynamics that transform the visual inputs into diverse behaviors, and from which designing Brain Algorithm to explain different cognitive states (prediction, memory, decision making, learning etc.). Her work aims to provide important human benchmark to develop brain-inspired technologies. Her research has featured in high-impact scientific journals including Nature Human Behaviour and Current Biology.
