Cai Yimao is a professor and Dean of the School of Integrated Circuits at Peking University. He is recognized as a Changjiang Young Scholar by the Ministry of Education. His research focuses on key technologies for advanced memory, flexible electronics, and intelligent chips.
In 2006, he received his Ph.D. in Solid-State Electronics and Microelectronics from Peking University. Then, he conducted research on advanced non-volatile memory architecture and processes while employed as a Senior Researcher at Samsung Electronics Memory R&D Center in South Korea. In 2009, he joined the School of Integrated Circuits at Peking University and currently holds the position of professor.
Cai Yimao has overseen more than ten national-level projects, including major national projects, 863 programs, and projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has published over a hundred papers in professional journals and international conferences, including IEDM and IEEE-EDL. He has been granted more than 30 Chinese invention patents and over ten U.S. patents. Some of his achievements have been adopted by the International Technology Roadmap for Semiconductors (ITRS) and shared by Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (SMIC).
He serves as an editorial board member for "Chinese Science: Information Science" and as a member of the editorial board for the series "Integrated Circuit" and "Comprehensive Book of Integrated Circuit Industry." He also serves as a reviewer for academic publications such as IEEE Electron Device Letters and IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices.
