Biography

Ma Lei is an Associate Researcher at the National Biomedical Imaging Center of the College of Future Technology, Peking University, and is responsible for the full-scale image data integration device of the multimodal cross-scale biomedical imaging facility. He is currently conducting research on basic models of biomedical imaging and digital life based on the imaging facility. Over the past five years, he has published more than fifty papers in internationally renowned journals and conferences such as Nat. Comm., Cell Res., TPAMI, and IJCV, covering frontier interdisciplinary fields including computer graphics, machine learning, and brain-like intelligence. He has previously served as an engineer at Autodesk Research Lab, a leading graphics company, where his engineering achievements were applied to industrial-grade software like AutoCAD and 3ds Max. He has rich experience in enterprise R&D management. He was also the Director of the Life Simulation Research Center at the Beijing Academy of Artificial Intelligence, where he formed a research team deeply intersecting computer science, artificial intelligence, and neuroscience. The team developed the high-precision life simulation platform Tianyan and released the world's highest precision model of C. elegans.
