Xiaojun Wan is a professor at the Wangxuan Institute of Computer Technology, Peking University. He received his bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees from Peking University. He is the head of the Language Computing and Internet Mining Laboratory. His research focuses on natural language processing and text mining, including automatic summarization, text generation, sentiment analysis, semantic analysis, multimodal and multilingual NLP, and more. He has served as an editorial board member of the top international journal Computational Linguistics and as the program committee chair of the international conference EMNLP-IJCNLP 2019. He is currently the secretary-general of the CCF-NLP Committee, an executive editor of TACL, and a board member of NLE and JCST. He has chaired numerous important international conferences in the field, including ACL, NAACL, EMNLP, EACL, and AACL. He has received several awards, including the ACL 2017 Outstanding Paper Award, IJCAI 2018 Distinguished Paper Award, 2017 CAAI WUWENJUN Technical Innovation Award, and the CCF NLPCC Distinguished Young Scientist. He has developed multiple AI writing robots, such as XiaoNan, XiaoKe, and PKUWriter, which have been applied in various media organizations.
