Peng Yuxin is currently the Boya Distinguished Professor with the Wangxuan Institute of Computer Technology, Peking University.. He is recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars of China in 2019, a leading talent in the National "Ten Thousand Talent Program" and the Ministry of Science and Technology's young science and technology innovation leadership program. He serves as the Chairman of the Expert Committee of the China Artificial Intelligence Industry Innovation Alliance, an expert of the Expert Committee for the "Artificial Intelligence 2.0" Plan of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and the Deputy Secretary-General of the China Society of Image and Graphics.
His main research areas include cross-media analysis and reasoning, image and video recognition and understanding, and computer vision. He led his team to win the First Place in video instance search evaluation of TRECVID nine times in the recent years. He won the First Prize of the Beijing Technological Invention Award in 2016 (ranking first) and the First Prize of the Scientific and Technological Progress Award of Chinese Institute of Electronics in 2020 (ranking first). He has led over 20 projects, including the 863 Program and the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and published over 160 papers, including more than 70 ACM/IEEE Trans and CCF A-class papers. He won best paper award at MMM 2019 and NCIG 2018. He serves as the associate editor of IEEE TMM, etc.
