Feng Yansong is an associate professor at the Wangxuan Institute of Computer Technology, Peking University. He received his Ph.D. in Informatics from the University of Edinburgh in 2011. His primary research area is natural language processing. His current research focuses on distilling knowledge from large volumes of text resources on the web. Besides the main stream, he is also involved in exciting topics in multimedia modelling and social .
He has consistently ranked first in intelligent question answering evaluations focused on structured knowledge bases. His related work has been published in top conferences and journals in the field of natural language processing, including ACL, EMNLP, TPAMI, and AIJ. He has served as a chair or senior program committee member for important international conferences in the field, such as ACL, EMNLP, NAACL, and IJCAI. He has also been the principal investigator or core member for several projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Ministry of Science and Technology's 863 Program, and key research and development projects. In 2014 and 2015, he received the IBM Faculty Award, and in 2016, he was awarded the IBM Shared University Research Award.
