Mengyuan Liu's research vision is to enable robots to understand the human-centered physical world through "eyes" to achieve natural and friendly intelligent human-computer interaction. He has published over 50 academic papers in top international conferences such as CVPR, ECCV, AAAI, IJCAI, ACMMM, and leading international journals like TMM, TCSVT, PR, TIP. His work has been cited more than 2,000 times, with a single paper being cited over 600 times, and he has been listed in the ESI Highly Cited Researchers list for three consecutive years. His methods have been widely referenced by institutions including Amazon, Microsoft, Google Research, Microsoft Research Asia, Max Planck Institute, INRIA, MIT, Carnegie Mellon University, Columbia University, University of Adelaide, and the University of Tokyo.

He maintains long-term collaborative relationships with leading researchers from renowned institutions such as NTU, UCF, UB, ETH Zurich, CUHK (Shenzhen), and well-known companies like Tencent, Sony, and OPPO.
