Qiu Zhanghong, born in Tongcheng, Anhui Province, holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy and Economics. He is currently a professor at the School of Arts, Peking University, the director of the Film and Television Department, the director of the Peking University Digital Media Experiment Center, and a national-level senior film editor. His main research areas include film economics, 3D film, interactive narrative, and computational communication studies. He has undertaken and led six provincial and ministerial research projects from the Ministry of Education, the State Administration of Radio and Television, the Ministry of Culture, and the Guangdong Province, as well as four national key research projects, including the "973" Program, the Science and Technology Support Program, and the National Social Science Fund. He has published works such as "The Fourth Box Office" and "The Beauty of Depth". He has edited over 70 TV dramas and color-corrected more than 20 films. He has also served as a director or chief director for large-scale documentary series such as "Chinese Buddhism", "World Heritage in China (3D) ", and "Chinese Coastline".
