Feng Peng is the Dean, Professor, and Ph.D. Supervisor of the School of Arts at Peking University. He is the Convener of the Discipline Evaluation Group of Art Theory of the State Council, the Secretary-General of the Teaching Guidance Committee of Art Theory in Higher Education Institutions of the Ministry of Education, the Vice President of the Chinese Society of Aesthetics, a director of the China Literature and Art Critics Association, a director of the China Artists Association, and an executive member of the International Association for Aesthetics. In 2016, he was selected as a "Changjiang Scholar" Distinguished Professor by the Ministry of Education. He is engaged in research, teaching, and practice in the fields of aesthetics theory, art theory, art criticism, exhibition planning, and scriptwriting.
Prof. Feng Peng has published 15 academic works, including “General Theory of Art,” “Introduction to Aesthetics,” and “Return: 11 Contemporary Aesthetic Questions,” as well as translated seven works, including “The Language of Art” and “Landscape Aesthetics.” He is the chief editor of the “International Yearbook of Aesthetics” (Volume 16). He has published more than 200 papers in Chinese and English in well-known academic journals such as “Philosophical Research,” “Literary Research,” “Philosophy East and West,” “Journal of Aesthetic Education,” “Asian Philosophy,” “Rivista di Estetica” (Italy),“Filozofski Vestnik” (Slovenia), and “International Yearbook of Aesthetics.” He has curated more than 200 art exhibitions, including “Diffusion: China Pavilion at the 54th Venice International Art Biennale” (Venice, Italy, 2011) , “Time Difference: China-New Media Art Exhibition” (Hanover, Germany, 2012), “Plane and Depth: Chinese Contemporary Painting Exhibition” (Seoul, South Korea, 2014), “National Style: China Contemporary Art International Touring Exhibition” (St. Petersburg, Russia, and Umea, Sweden, 2015) , “Flat Distant: China-Slovenia Contemporary Art Invitational Exhibition” (Maribor, Slovenia, 2016), “Art for Peace: UNESCO Exhibition Project” (Paris, 2016), “Flow: China-Italy Contemporary Art Exchange Exhibition” (Vicenza, Italy, 2017), “Ink Births Four Images: International Ink Art Invitational Exhibition” (Krakow, Poland, 2017), and “Encounter Silk Road: The First Xinjiang International Art Biennale” (Urumqi, China, 2014). He has received honors such as the Second Prize of the Eighth Higher Education Scientific Research Outstanding Achievement Award (Humanities and Social Sciences) from the Ministry of Education, the Outstanding Communist Party Member Model of Peking University, and Peking University's Top Ten Teachers.
