Professor Zhou Xiaohua is an Endowed Professor at Peking University. He is the Director of the Department of Biostatistics at the School of Public Health, the Deputy Director of the Center for Statistical Science, the Director of the Laboratory of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics at the Beijing International Center for Mathematical Research (BICMR), and the Director of the Traditional Chinese Medicine Big Data Center at the Beijing Institute of Big Data Research. He has previously held positions as an Assistant Professor and Associate Professor of Biostatistics at Indiana University in the United States, a Professor of Biostatistics at the University of Washington, and the Deputy Director of the National Alzheimer's Coordinating Center in the United States. He has served as the Chairperson of the International Biometric Society, Chinese Region (IBS-China), and the President of the Biostatistics Society of the Chinese Society of Survey, Design, and Analysis for Industry, Education, and Research. He is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, a Fellow of the American Statistical Association, a Fellow of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics, and a Fellow of the International Statistical Institute. He is also a member of the Medical Devices and Radiological Health Advisory Committee of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). He has received several prestigious awards, including the Early Career Scientist Award from the U.S. Federal Government, the Overseas Outstanding Young Scientist Award from the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the High-level Education Expert of the Ministry of Education of China, and the Overseas Distinguished Teacher of the Ministry of Education of China. He has also received the Mitchell Award from the Section on Bayesian Statistical Science of the American Statistical Association and the International Society for Bayesian Analysis, the Innovation Award for Cooperation between Industry, Education, and Research in China, and the Annual Outstanding Paper Award selected by SCIENCE CHINA-Mathematics. His research focuses on statistical methods in medical diagnostics, design and statistical methods in randomized clinical trials, causal inference analysis, medical big data, missing data, mathematical and statistical modeling of emerging infectious diseases, neuroscience, health economics, health services, and the development of new statistical methods in traditional Chinese medicine research. He has made significant contributions and has published over 260 SCI academic papers in top international statistical and biostatistical journals, including Journal of the Royal Statistical Society Series B (Statistical Methodology), Journal of the American Statistical Association, Biometrika, Annals of Statistics, Biometrics, and Statistics in Medicine. More than 130 of these papers are authored or co-authored as the first or corresponding author. He has served as an associate editor for top biostatistics journals, including Biometrics, Statistics in Medicine, and the Journal of the American Statistical Association - Theory and Methods. He is also the editor-in-chief of the journal Biostatistics & Epidemiology, the official journal of the International Biometric Society, Chinese Region.
