Jiang Baoguo is a medical doctor, professor, chief physician, and doctoral supervisor. He currently serves as the President of Peking University People's Hospital, Director of the National Trauma Medical Center, Director of the Peking University Trauma Medical Center, Chairman of the China Trauma Care Alliance, and Chairman of the International Trauma Care Alliance. He is a recipient of the National Distinguished Youth Fund, a Changjiang Scholar Distinguished Professor appointed by the Ministry of Education, a Chief Scientist of the National 973 Project, and an academic leader of the Ministry of Education's Innovation Team. In 2021, he was elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering in the Medical and Health Sciences Division.
His main research areas include standardized treatment of severe trauma, peripheral nerve injury and repair, and periarticular fractures. He has received numerous awards and honors, including the First Prize of the Ministry of Education for Technological Invention, the First Prize of the Ministry of Education for Scientific and Technological Progress, the First Prize of the Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award, the Second Prize of the National Scientific and Technological Progress Award, the International Gusi Peace Prize, the Paul Janssen Award, the Ho Leung Ho Lee Science and Technology Progress Award, and the Chinese Academy of Engineering Guanghua Engineering Science and Technology Award.
