Professor Wu Si is a professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Psychology and Cognitive Sciences at Peking University. He is also a researcher at the McGovern Institute for Brain Research at Peking University and a researcher at the Peking University-Tsinghua University Joint Center for Life Sciences. From 1987 to 1995, he obtained his Bachelor's degree in Physics, Master's degree in General Relativity, and Ph.D. in Statistical Physics from Beijing Normal University. From 1995 to 1997, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, from 1997 to 1998 at the University of Limburg in Belgium, and from 1998 to 2000 at the RIKEN Institute in Japan. From 2001 to 2003, he served as a lecturer in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom, and from 2003 to 2008, he was a senior lecturer in the Department of Informatics at the University of Sussex in the United Kingdom. From 2008 to 2011, he was a researcher and the head of the Neural Information Processing Group at the Institute of Neuroscience, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and was selected as a member of the "Recruitment Program of Global Experts" (known as the "Thousand Talents Plan") in China. From 2011 to 2017, he was a professor at the State Key Laboratory of Cognitive Neuroscience and Learning at Beijing Normal University. His research focuses on computational neuroscience and neuromorphic computing.


Professor Wu Si currently serves as a Intelligence Scholar at the Beijing Academy of Artificial Intelligence, co-editor-in-chief of the international journal Frontiers in Computational Neuroscience, Fellow of the Chinese Association of Automation, council member of the Chinese Society for Cognitive Science, council member of the Chinese Neuroscience Society, and director of the Committee on Computational Neuroscience and Neural Engineering.
