Biography

Professor at the School of Future Technology, Peking University, and the Center for Quantitative Biology at Peking University. Currently serves as the Party Secretary of the School of Future Technology. Main academic roles include Secretary-General of the Beijing Bioinformatics Research Society, Director of the Chinese Society of Bioinformatics (preparatory), Executive Member of the Biomedical Information Technology Branch of the Chinese Society of Medical Biotechnology, and Member of the Computational Biology and Bioinformatics Professional Committee of the Chinese Society of Bioengineering.


Dedicated to developing bioinformatics methods and technologies based on genomics and multi-omics problems, using machine learning and deep learning technologies to mine and analyze large-scale biomedical data. Main research directions include:

1. Genomic informatics methods and technologies based on next-generation sequencing, comparative genomics, and genome evolution.

2. Research on microbiomes, viromes including gut microbiota, pathogens, and environmentally related microbial communities.

3. Multi-omics methods and technologies based on deep learning and machine learning.


Published over 70 high-level papers in bioinformatics, biology, and medical journals such as Nucleic Acids Research, Nature Machine Intelligence, GigaScience, Bioinformatics, Diabetes, and Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology. Applied for 8 national invention patents and software copyrights. Research results have been cited and highlighted by journals like Nature and Cell multiple times. Supervised over 30 Ph.D. graduates, with students winning national excellent doctoral dissertation awards (nominated) and Beijing excellent doctoral dissertation awards.
