Biography
To date, has published over 200 papers, with more than ten published in Science, Nature, and Cell, totaling over 23,000 citations. Has long been dedicated to research in the fields of calcium signaling and mitochondrial biomedicine, as well as the independent development of high-end biomedical instruments.
Awards include the "Research Achievement Award" from the International Society for Heart Research (2016), the Guohua Distinguished Scholar Award from Peking University (2021), and the Bei Shizhang Outstanding Contribution Award (2023). Research results were selected for the "Top Ten Scientific Advances in China in 2017" and Nature Methods' "Method of the Year 2018."
Major Academic Contributions:
· Discovered "Calcium Sparks," with the original paper cited as one of the ten most outstanding papers in myocardial research over the past century.
· Discovered the mitochondrial "Mitoflash" phenomenon, revealing its signaling function in energy metabolism, learning, memory, and aging biology.
· Led a team to successfully develop a 2.2g miniature two-photon microscope, enabling the observation of neuronal activity in freely moving mice, pioneering a new paradigm in brain science research.
· Using high-speed high-throughput imaging and machine learning techniques, achieved SCN nucleus-wide calcium imaging across nearly ten thousand neurons day and night, revealing collective decision-making mechanisms in neuronal population time encoding.
