Biography
Dean of the School of Future Technology, Peking University, lifetime chair professor at Peking University, and recipient of the National Outstanding Youth Fund. Graduated from Tongji Medical University in 1987; obtained a Ph.D. in Biology from the University of Maryland in 1995, and was appointed as a senior NIH researcher in 2003. Served as a committee member of the American Heart Association's Mid-Atlantic Region, a fellow of the International Society for Heart Research (ISHR), and a fellow of the American Clinical and Translational Science Institute. Since 2014, has been the deputy editor of The New England Journal of Medicine. With a background in both medicine and biology, focuses on the molecular mechanisms of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases and new drug development, conducting long-term, systematic, and in-depth research on the three most important drug targets: G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs), enzyme proteins, and hormone receptors. Published over 170 papers, with nearly 15,000 citations; has rich experience in translational medicine, from theoretical breakthroughs to drug design to clinical trials, and is one of China's leading figures in translational medicine research.
