Jiaying Liu is an associate professor, Changjiang Young Scholar of the Ministry of Education, and Peking University Boya Young Scholar. In July 2010, she graduated from Peking University with a Ph.D. in Computer Application Technology. In August 2012, she was promoted to associate professor. In 2015, she served as a visiting researcher in the MSRA Star Track for Young Faculties Program. Her research areas include image/video compression, enhancement, and analytics. She has published over 100 papers in IEEE/ACM transactions and CCF A rank conferences, with over 13,000+ citations on Google Scholar. She has also been granted 70+ national invention patents. She serves as an APSIPA Distinguished Lecturer, a senior member of IEEE/CSIG/CCF, a Technical Committee member of IEEE CASS-MSA/VSPC, and the secretary of the CSIG Multimedia Technical Committee. She is an editorial board member of IEEE Transactions on Image Processing and Elsevier Journal of Visual Communication and Image Representation. She has also been involved in organizing various international conferences, including serving as the Technical Program Chair of ACM ICMR-2021 and IEEE ICME-2021 and as an Area Chair for CVPR/ICCV/ECCV. She has received the Second Prize of Scientific and Technological Progress from the Ministry of Education, the CSIG Shi Qingyun Young Female Scientist Award, the Teaching Excellence Award from Peking University, and the Best Paper Award at IEEE ICME 2020. The global MOOC course she taught was selected as one of the first "National Excellent Online Open Courses" by the Ministry of Education and one of the first national first-class undergraduate courses.
