Du Jian obtained his Ph.D. in Information Science from Nanjing University in 2017. He has worked at the Institute of Medical Informatics, Peking Union Medical College (School of Medicine, Tsinghua University). He has been engaged in interdisciplinary research on medical health and data science (informatics, information science) for a long time. He has led several projects, including National Natural Science Foundation projects, youth projects, projects under the China Association for Science and Technology's Youth Talent Support Program, and projects commissioned by national ministries and commissions. He has published over 70 papers in authoritative journals in the fields of data analysis and information science, such as the Journal of Informetrics, Journal of the Society for Information Science and Technology, Scientometrics, Journal of Data and Information Science, as well as A-category journals recognized by the Management Science Division of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, including the Journal of Information Science and Scientific Research. He has also completed numerous strategic consulting and policy research reports driven by data and information analysis.
Jian Du serves as a member of the Health and Medical Big Data Application Management Professional Committee of the China Hospital Association, a member of the Biomedical Informatics Branch of the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association, a member of the Medical Research Management Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, and a member of the Medical Science and Technology Resource Management Study Group. He is also an editorial board member of Health Data Science and a reviewer for several Chinese and English journals. In 2017, he received the First Youth Scientist Award from the China Society for Scientific and Technical Information and was selected for the Youth Talent Support Program by the China Association for Science and Technology.
